Health Inspections Portal

SCPHD now offers food establishment, childcare, and pool inspections, as well as septic records, via the South Central Public Health District Inspection Portal.

More Information About Inspections

Food Establishment Inspections

Health District Environmental Health Specialists conduct regular inspections of restaurants, taverns, grocery stores, meat markets, farmer’s markets, schools, food processors, and other facilities that handle Potentially Hazardous Foods (PHF’s) to determine proper hygiene and food handling practices of operators and their employees.

All food facilities receive one unannounced inspection each year. When critical violations are noted during an inspection, they must be corrected immediately or the inspector will have to schedule a follow-up inspection or issue a violation correction report.

You can search our database for inspections either by the name of the food establishment or by the city in which it resides or by utilizing both. The database maintains data for the last three years.

Childcare Provider Inspections

To view Childcare Provider Inspections, please access the South Central Public Health District Inspection Portal.

Addtionally, the Idaho State Training and Registry System (IdahoSTARS) is devoted to increasing public awareness about the importance of quality child care. Parents can view childcare public service announcements, inspections, newsletters, and print off provider checklists, take a survey, and access many other resources on this website.

If you see something in a child care facility that concerns you please call the Idaho CareLine (dial 2-1-1)

Swimming Pool Inspections

Environmental Health Specialists review plans for new and remodeled pools. We also provide consultations and annual inspection services for public swimming pools.

Septic Records

Environmental Health Specialists review applications and issue permits for new and repaired subsurface sewage disposal systems (septic tanks). South Central Public Health District also provides education, testing, and licensing for subsurface sewage installers.
